About the artwork
Artist supplied description.
This print, more than any other in Duvet's oeuvre, demonstrates the influence of the School of Fountainebleau on his work. It illustrates a popular fourteenth-century story of the hunt by Henri de Ferrières. The king and Diana may be meant to refer to King Henri II and Diane de Poitiers.
