About the artwork
Artist supplied description.

In this vision from Revelation 11:1–13, a vibrant and industrious Saint John appears in small scale at the upper left. He holds a reed in his hand in order to measure the Temple of Jerusalem. The two larger figures recurring throughout the composition represent witnesses to events in the temple: they receive divine power issued by mouth from the figure of God the Father above the altar, they perish at the mercy of a beast from the abyss (at lower right), and are eventually resurrected (not pictured here).
