About the artwork
Artist supplied description.
Pieter van der Heyden’s Lust is a vision of hell from Pieter Brueghel’s Seven Deadly Sins series. Lust is personified by the nude woman in the center of the composition, who is seduced by a monster. To their left, a naked man wearing a hat, which identifies him as an adulterer, rides a beast leading a demonic procession.
