Commissioned by the Friends of Mary Harris Thompson, Chicago, 1902 [Schultz 2001, 879]; given to the Art Institute of Chicago, 1903; permanently lent to the Mary Thompson Hospital, Chicago, 1929; returned to the Art Institute of Chicago, 1992.
