    Provenance

    Possibly Charles H. Marcellis [stamp, recto, lower right; see Lugt Suppl. 609]. Col. E. R. Lamponi (died before 1902), Florence and Turin [stamp, recto, lower left; Lugt 1760]. Mr. Hugo L. Loewe, Berlin [according to a letter from Norman Pritchard dated July 3. 1961 in curatorial file]; by descent to his daughter, Marie Louise Pritchard, Chicago [according to Norman Pritchard]; given to the Art Institute, 1960.
