    Provenance

    Antoine-Joseph Dezallier D’Argenville Paris (1680–1765) [inscription (Lugt 2951), recto, lower left, in pen and black ink].  E. Calando (died 1899), Paris [stamp (Lugt 837), recto, lower left, in black]; by descent; sold, Paris, Mar. 17–18, 1927, lot 25.  Louis Deglatigny (1854–1936), Rouen [stamp (Lugt 1768a), recto, lower left, in red]. Prof. Einar Perman (1893–1976), Stockholm; by descent to this son Dr. Einar Perman; sold through Robert Light and Co., Santa Barbara, Cal., to the Art Institute of Chicago, 1983.
