    Estate of the artist [Lugt 657; not included in the atelier sales according to Brame and Reff 1984]; by descent to the artist’s nephew, Henri Fèvre (born 1878), Nice [according to invoice in curatorial file]. Marcel Guérin (1873-1948), Paris, by July 1931 [Lemoisne 1931]. Sold by Jacques Seligmann and Company, New York, to the Art Institute of Chicago with funds provided by Margaret Day Blake, 1949.
