About This Work
Modernist, monochrome hourglass-shaped ceramic sculptures built using coil and pinch-pot methods, drawing on the artist's childhood in rural Puerto Rico and inspired by the work of Isamu Noguchi and Alexander Calder.
About the Artist
Based in Portland, OR, Carmona exhibits regularly in Oregon and elsewhere. In 2020 he was awarded a Hallie Ford Fellowship from the Ford Family Foundation. His works are in the collections of the Boise Art Museum, Jordan Schnitzer Family Foundation Collection, and Portland Art Museum.
