    Possibly Count Cesare Merenda, Forlì. E. Galippe, Amsterdam [according to Amsterdam 1970 exh. cat.]; probably by descent to Mme. Veuve Galippe; probably her sale, Amsterdam, R.W.P. de Vries, March 27/29, 1923. Iohan Q. Van Regteren Altena (1899—1980), Amsterdam, by 1980 [according to Russell]; by descent to his family until at least 1985 [according to Clark & Bowron]. Sold, Sotheby’s, London, July 5, 2006, lot 39, to Dorothy Braude Edinburg, Brookline, MA; given to the Art Institute of Chicago, 2013.
