NFC & QR tags

Every artwork can carry NFC tags and a QR code. Both take visitors to the artwork's public page — and take your staff straight to its record.

Open the artwork and go to the NFC Tags tab. Enter the Tag Serial Number (UID), choose the Tag Type and select Assign Tag. Use Add Tag to link more than one.

A tag can belong to only one artwork at a time; to move it, remove it from the old artwork first. You can also assign a tag while adding a new artwork.

2. Manage your tags

The NFC Tags page lists every tag with your totals and scans over the last 30 days. For each tag you can view its QR code, copy its scan URL, deactivate or reactivate it, report it damaged or mark it replaced.

3. What happens when someone taps a tag

A visitor who taps a tag lands on the artwork's public page, and the scan is counted in your analytics. If the tag is inactive or the artwork isn't publicly visible, they see a not-found page instead.

Signed-in staff of the organization that owns the artwork go straight to its record in the dashboard — the quickest way to update it on site, even for artworks that aren't public.

4. QR codes

Each artwork's QR code opens its public page. Download it from the artwork as PNG, SVG or PDF at 500, 1000 or 2000 px.

To get codes for every public artwork at once, use Reports → QR Codes — All Artworks (ZIP). QR scans aren't counted as NFC scans.

5. Plaques

From the Certificates tab, generate a Paper Plaque (QR code only) or an Acrylic Smart Plaque (QR code plus an NFC tap area). Both are 10-inch landscape PDFs, with optional agency and Art Trackers logos.
